I lived in Istanbul for two years and in Barcelona for two and a half. Friends kept asking me where to eat, what to do, where to walk, and what was actually worth their time whenever they visited. They asked because they trusted my taste.

I got tired of sending the same lists of links, so I turned them into something better: short, personal city guides written from lived experience, not from a short trip.

Each city page includes field notes on places, walking routes, a local lexicon, and the unwritten rules that help you read the city properly.
